The predicted effect of climate change on indoor overheating of heritage apartments in two different Chinese climate zones

Understanding the effects of climate change on building indoor thermal conditions is importance for providing a comfortable environment occupants. Some multi-family dwellings have already been listed as heritage in China (hereinafter referred to apartments), limiting modifications envelope. However, effect comfort apartments with compact interior (i.e. without living room) built before 1980s different Chinese zones has seldom studied. This study focuses current and future two-bedroom China. The was conducted two zones, that is, cold zone (Beijing), hot summer winter (Shanghai) both scenarios (typical meteorological years) (2050) were used. results indicate, among other things, increases 58%–60% 41%–44% predicted average number overheating hours 2050 compared studied bedrooms first floor Beijing Shanghai, respectively.
